My Story

A Little Bit About Myself

I have been working in Finance for almost 25 years. In those years, I always appreciated the relationships I developed with the clients I worked with. I have helped them in their communications with Financial Planners, Advisors, CPAs and Estate Attorneys. Enjoyed many conversations while discussing goals for their financial plans. Worked as the equivalent of the RN or PA to the Doctor but instead the Assistant to the Financial Advisors and Financial Planners. My heart has always been on the day-to-day conversations that did not involve transactions, but the ones that allowed me to help them develop their plans around their values and see them achieve their goals. Now I get to do what I love and help others achieve their goals.

During COVID, like the greater part of the population, I went through many changes – physical and emotional.  In that process, I decided to obtain my certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.  I learned a lot about health and many teachings I have found to work well in my everyday life as I have applied them.

As I was trying to finalize the direction in which I wanted my business to go, I realized that as much as I love health, my heart is in finance.  Helping clients achieve their financial goals by helping them with the technical, behavioral and emotional components of money.

Although I have been working in finance for nearly 25 years, it does not mean I have not had my own share of struggles.  Personal and financial decisions I made in my earlier years really took a toll on any goals I ever had.  I was a single mom and yet despite the depth of those struggles, I made it without my son ever seeing a shelter or claiming bankruptcy; even when I didn’t have enough for food, my son always had what he needed. It took a lot out of me to figure out what to do in those days, but I was determined to not become a statistic of failure.  There were a lot of lessons learned along the way, and I am thankful for those lessons.

I was single for the first 10 years of my son’s life and eventually I got things under control.  I was moving forward with my life financially and I started to get a taste of what it was to reward myself for my hard work.  Then, I married.  This had some major changes.  My husband moved from out of state and it wasn’t easy supporting a household alone.  Did I forget to mention we got married in 2008 during the financial crisis?

Imagine the confusion on my face when the front desk at our hotel tells us that the credit card we used was declined. I had made a large payment on my AmEx to pay for our hotel for our honeymoon and my credit limit, like many others during that time, was reduced to my current balance (without any notice).  Thankfully we had other means, but the experience was embarrassing nonetheless. Times were tight and sometimes tighter.

Something we realized at the time was that for many reasons, my husband should take advantage of that time he couldn’t find employment and go to school instead.  I was fortunate enough to be secure at my job despite the world falling apart and with that we managed to get by although things were tight.  This, of course, put a lot of pressure on me and at times, the arguments were quite intense.

Fast forward 15 years, we are in a better position financially than we’ve ever been.  We went from a 500sq ft apartment in Queens to owning our own home in the suburbs.  As we have grown financially, I saw the need for couples to learn each other’s money language.  It took my husband and I 15+ years to finally get on the same page when it comes to money.  Whether you are engaged or married for a while, I want to help you achieve that communication so you can avoid the stress and the arguments that come along with financial discord.

If you are a parent, single or married, I’ve been there, too.  I know how much we want to take care of our children and give them the best we can.  But I also learned that if I didn’t take care of me, I would not be able to take care of my son.

I am here to help you with your day-to-day money habits, budgeting and if needed debt repayment.  Educating you when you have questions so you can better communicate with your financial professionals.  Empowering you to be your own advocate and support you with accountability.  Help you with the tools you need so you feel happy and comfortable with the decisions you make.

With my experience in finance and my refined skills in coaching, I have become even more determined to help as many as I can achieve their financial goals.  Money, like health, is a journey.  The habits we develop today can make or break our futures.  I am here to work as your support and cheerleader to help you achieve your goals in a holistic way and accompany you on your journey so you can be successful.

My Mission & Approach

My goal is to help you get the most of your relationship with money so you can achieve financial success. We start with an assessment on money beliefs to determine areas where we can develop goals. I will educate you and provide you with the tools and resources necessary to help you become confident with managing your money. You can count on my support with encouragement and accountability. Empowering you to make your own qualified money management decisions

Are you Ready?

One of the joys of financial coaching is seeing the tangible and intangible progress that our clients make as we work with them. Coaching though, is very client oriented. Clients need to be ready to take on their challenges with the determination to overcome them. A positive attitude is a must because it will help drive you to make the changes you want to make. I can guide you, cheer you and educate you, but I cannot do the work for you.
